BRANDING & VISUAL DESIGN FOR HIKE SUFFOLK
Living and working in Suffolk, I particularly love working with local businesses. For this project, I created a logo and brand identity system for Hike Suffolk, an online community and blog dedicated to exploring Constable’s Country.
Our journey began with the challenge of crafting a brand that not only captured the spirit of Suffolk’s landscapes but also resonated with avid walkers and nature enthusiasts. Balancing the modern functionality of a website with the timeless beauty of the Suffolk countryside posed a unique creative challenge.

LOGO DESIGN
Drawing inspiration from Suffolk’s diverse landscapes and shape, we delved into the lush greenery, rolling hills, and serene coastal paths that define the region. This served as the bedrock for the design ethos. We wanted an abstract shape to represent the organic, non-uniform nature of the county, but one that was versatile as a logo - immediately recognisable, and easy to work into various channels, from physical pin badges and stickers to website and social channels.
Suffolk, a picturesque county in the East of England, offers an array of enchanting hiking trails that beckon outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Known for its diverse landscapes, from rolling hills and mysterious forests to serene coastlines, I drew on the nature of the landscape for inspiration.
BRAND ASSETS & DIRECTION
The colour palette was crafted to reflect the changing hues of Suffolk’s scenery throughout the seasons and across the county - rich, dark, earthy greens of a winter in Rendlesham Forest, a vibrant and fresh green of a blooming spring in Lavenham, the hazy, soft, pastel pink of a summer morning in Southwold, and an autumnal, warm orange, symbolic of the famous “Suffolk Sunset”.
Embracing the principle that less is more, I put together a visual identity systems that reflects the simplicity of a tranquil stroll through the Suffolk countryside while embodying the character and charm of vintage design.
WEBSITE DESIGN
The culmination of this creative project is a brand that blends the natural beauty of Suffolk with a contemporary online experience. From the captivating website design to the thoughtfully designed blog layout and “Find a Hiking Trail” functionality, every element reflects the spirit of Hike Suffolk.
